Mengapa mereka bertindak sedemikian....

Adakah D.S.A.I tidak minat atau cemburu jika isterinya berkuasa. Saya rasa tidaklah begitu.

A REPEAT OF 1998 !!!!

Not exactly same but almost....
Last time ANWAR was arrested in his house but this time near his house.
He was freed on bail.

PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, who was arrested yesterday, was freed on police bail at 9.45am.
MCPXAfter being released from police custody, he immediately headed back to his house in Bukit Segambut, Kuala Lumpur where he is expected to call a press conference at 2pm.However, Anwar was not charged but will have to report back to the police in a month's time on Aug 18.

Earlier this morning, his lawyer Sankara Nair told reporters outside the Kuala Lumpur police headquarters where Anwar was held overnight that the politician would be released by 1pm.
"I received a call from one of the investigation officers and they agreed to grant Anwar police bail," said Sankara who arrived at the police headquarters at 9am.

The lawyer went into the building after briefly speaking to about 50 journalists who were waiting outside. With Sankara is another lawyer, R Sivarasa, who is also PKR vice-president and Subang parliamentarian. At 9.30am, Anwar's wife Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail accompanied by her daughters arrived in a car and they were seen going into the police headquarters.A suspect can be freed from police custody under the police bail but will have to report back at a specified date where the police have the option to procure charges.
Severe back pain
Soon after the release, Sivarasa said Anwar had complained of back pain after spending the night on a "cold cement floor" last night.
"He was lying on a slab of cement the whole of last night in a cell and he needs emergency medical treatment," Sankara told AFP, adding that he required an injection to control the pain.Anwar is currently resting at home while a horde of reporters, including the foreign media, are waiting outside. Earlier they saw the opposition leader being driven through the gates of his suburban home in a black four-wheel drive.
Since then, there has been an endless stream of visitors and well-wishers.

At about 10.45am, Wan Azizah and her eldest daughter Nurul Izzah - both of whom are parliamentarians - left the house for Parliament.
"My husband is in pain," the PKR president told reporters before leaving.
Anwar, a former deputy premier who seeking to mount a political comeback after being sacked and jailed on sodomy and corruption charges a decade ago, was arrested by balaclava-clad police commandos in dramatic scenes yesterday. In exclusive photos taken by Chinese daily Nanyang Siang Pau, Anwar could be seen being ushered into a white 4WD by about six balaclava-clad police officers (left).
He has rejected the allegations levelled by 23-year-old former aide Mohamad Saiful Bukhari Azlan as a conspiracy to prevent him from ousting the government, which was weakened by unprecedented losses in March elections. His DNA samples provided before
Police commandos swooped on his vehicle as he approached his home on yesterday, an hour before he was due to appear voluntarily for interrogation.
He was taken to police headquarters and underwent a marathon six-hour questioning session before being taken to hospital for a medical examination, where his lawyers said he refused to give a DNA sample.
"We allowed a superficial medical exam but there was no DNA supplied. They already have Anwar's DNA samples from the last time," Sankara said.
Opposition leaders have hailed his release but said he should never have been arrested as he had already agreed to be questioned by police over the allegations.
"We are happy that he is released but we still maintain there is a conspiracy against him and we don't know what the government will do next," said PKR deputy president Syed Husin Ali.Anwar not given police report
Wan Azizah, who is Permatang Pauh MP, later spoke to reporters at the Parliament lobby about her husband's condition.
“He came back in pain, fatigue, and was very tired and we had asked a doctor to come and he was given an injection.“He had nothing to sleep on last night. It was a cemented lock-up. I'd given him a towel, at least he had something to lie on.” Wan Azizah revealed that the police had wanted to question Anwar further this morning.“He has already given his statement (to the police), but this morning he said the police wanted to continue with the statement.“This was not right - after he gave his statement (yesterday), he asked three times, 'Is it okay, it there anything else you want to know?'”Wan Azizah also said Anwar was not given a copy of the police report made by his accuser, Saiful.“We don't really know the full allegations. But the lawyers said, 'If they don't want us to give us, fine. Just read us what the contents are'.”

The BATTLE For UMNO Supremacy!!!

Even before Umno branches begin their meetings this month, Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has apparently sown up nominations from his home state of Penang to defend his party presidency.

MCPXAll 13 division leaders at the Penang Umno liaison committee meeting on Saturday have unanimously decided to nominate Abdullah as the party chief and Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak as deputy for another term. The startling announcement was made by committee deputy chief Abdul Rashid Abdullah after emerging from a three-hour meeting chaired by Abdullah, who is incidentally the state liaison chief.

The question on everyone’s lips is ‘why so soon’ since nominations for party posts would only be made when Umno’s 191 divisions hold their annual general meetings (AGM) in October. Before that, its 10,000 branches would be having their respective AGMs from mid-July.Clearly, Abdullah is not taking his chances.Obviously, he wants to ensure that all the president’s men would grab the leadership in the upcoming branch polls, which in turn will dominate the division leadership and this will inevitably lead to nominations. Many see a certain Kelantan prince from Gua Musang, veteran party leader Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, to fight for Umno supremacy in the December party polls. The more dangerous challengerBut reliable party sources indicated that the premier was in a hurry to secure as many nominations possible because of another potential challenger.

He is none other than Najib, who has been working hard laying out the groundwork to capture the president’s seat.Najib’s plan is simple - get more nominations than Abdullah for the president post, enough to show the incumbent he should go without a contest. His running mate is likely to be party vice-president Muhyiddin Yassin.Najib agents have been moving up and down the country to convince Umno division leaders to secure their boss more than 50 percent, or a minimum 100 nominations, for the Umno presidency.“If Najib could muster it, Abdullah may have to step down because he had fewer nominations than his deputy,” explained an Umno leader from Penang.

Under Umno rules, a member must muster 30 percent, or 58 nominations, from the party’s 191 divisions to be eligible to contest for the top post. For the deputy president, one has to get 20 percent nominations.Abdullah however is not sitting on his hands either.A party leader from Kedah said Abdullah had been sending words to Umno divisions across the country to give him a big mandate to continue as party president, which traditionally ensures premiership so long Umno has federal power.

Sensing Najib’s imminent coup de tat, Abdullah’s agents too are working hard in Penang and elsewhere to secure large chunk of division nominations for their boss. Some state leaders are expected to emulate Penang Umno’s decision in the coming weeks, but a majority of the division heads would prefer to ‘wait and see’ before deciding on who to pick.Abdullah is however expected to still defend his president’s post even if he received only a minimum number of nominations or another Umno leader has received sufficient nominations to challenge him.“But it will be embarrassing for the premier to scrap through with minimum nominations,” said a Perak leader.

Najib plans to overwhelm Pak LahSources also said the president had been well-informed that his political opponents would spend millions to secure more than enough nominations for the top two posts to embarrass Abdullah and seize power without a challenge. But if Plan A fails to work, Najib’s camp has a plan B to compel Abdullah to set a specific date for the eventual transfer of power by 2010.Najib’s moves have received widespread support from Umno politicians, who see the party number two as more-than-qualified to take over the reigns.

But of late, the deputy premier’s image has been tainted by the mystery murder of Mongolian model Altantuya Shariibuu.Party members are utterly confused with unanswered questions surrounding the murder case.“Prior to these controversies, Najib could have secured more than half of Kedah’s 15 divisional nominations, but his reputation has since suffered a severe setback,” said an Umno politician from the state. The deputy premier’s agents however are already working out plans to counter the allegations to reduce the impact of the scandal on Umno divisional nominations and delegates attending the Umno general assembly at year end.Abdullah, while pleasing and charming for many Umno members, is being blamed - to certain extent - for inaction in handling controversies such as the Altantuya murder case.

He is viewed as ‘ineffective and indecisive’ in handling the statutory declaration drama staged by private investigator P Balasubramaniam or Pakatan Rakyat de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim’s constant attacks against Najib and the government.Abdullah is also seen as listening too much to his family members and a handful of self-interest advisors in decision-making.But as prime miniser, he is not adverse in using the enormous power of incumbency to get backing from Umno powerbrokers.Umno’s ‘born to rule’ mentalityHe is actively looking after the ‘welfare’ of Umno division leaders in the five Pakatan Rakyat states and those who have lost their power such as former mentri besar Shahidan Kassim of Perlis and Idris Jusoh of Terengganu.Although both Shahidan and Idris were forced to relinquish their government positions, nonetheless the duo still command influential grassroots support.

Umno leaders and members have been living with the ‘born to rule’ mentality, monopolising power and business without being questioned by anyone. But since the March 8 watershed general election, the ruling party could no longer do things according to its ‘whims and fancies.’Party leaders are aghast with the new situation and they do not know whether to blame Abdullah, the party president or Najib, the Barisan Nasional election operations chief. However, they are sure to vent their anger and frustration at Umno branch AGMs this month, kick-starting a five-month political drama that could possibly end with a new leader at the helm.

ANWAR to kick off nationwide tour on SUNDAY !!!

Anwar Ibrahim has vowed to go on a nationwide tour to clear his name as he battled fresh sodomy allegations involving the opposition leader who sees himself as the 'prime minister in waiting'.

His first stop will be this Sunday in Petaling Jaya when thousands supporters are expected to voice their support for Anwar and to protest against the sharp hike in petrol prices last month.

It seemed as if history was repeating itself. As a warm up to the main event this weekend, thousands of supporters gathered last night to hear the fiery orator talk about the alleged injustice meted out against him.
In 1998, Anwar Ibrahim took to the streets to clear his name after he was unceremoniously sacked as deputy premier and accused of sodomy and abuse of power.
A decade later, the PKR de facto leader is once again forced to do the same in the wake of new sodomy allegations. Like in the past, Anwar maintains that it is a conspiracy to end his political career.

Last night, 10,000 people thronged Stadium Malawati in Shah Alam to hear the charismatic politician speak. Among those present were an army of Hindu Rights Action Force supporters who came armed with banners and placards demanding the release of their leaders.
As usual, Anwar did not disappoint.

He held the audience spellbound with his blistering 50-minute speech and raised the temperature a few notches when he vowed to "fight till the end the disgusting allegations against him."
His colleagues referred to him as the ‘supreme leader’ and prior to his arrival, other PKR leaders such as Saifuddin Nasution, R Sivarasa and Azmin Ali had warmed the floor with their "Najib (Abdul Razak) Mongolia" as well as Abdul Gani Patail and Musa Hassan jokes.
In between their speeches, pictures of the trio and the former PKR worker Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, who made the new allegations against Anwar, flashed on the big screen.
To move the crowd, each time their names were mentioned, their pictures were televised to everyone, drawing jeers.

By the time Anwar arrived at 10pm, the audience were already riled up. And before the 60-year-old politician took the microphone, the national anthem and party song were played.

Remembering 98

Peppering his message with doses of how he had suffered during the 1998 arrest, which culminated in a six-year prison term, a black eye and host of bodily injuries, Anwar had the crowd in overdrive.
"But this is not about Anwar," he reminded them.
"This is about the failure of the administration of the country. Whether it's the judiciary, the economy or the police - Pakatan Rakyat is here to ensure change," he roared.
Malaysia, he explained, is a oil producing nation and yet the petrol prices are one of the highest. He also repeated Pakatan's election promise to bring petrol prices down if they were in government.
"And I'll be damned if I or the other Pakatan leaders were to allow this travesty of justice to repeat itself."
On the night Anwar was arrested on Sept 20, 1999, he was brought to the national police headquarters in Bukit Aman where the former deputy premier was beaten by then police chief Abdul Rahim Noor, resulting in a black eye and injuries to other parts of his body.
What followed after his arrest was a series of unnatural sex and corruption trials.

Besides a very prominent mattress, there was his former speech writer Dr Munawar Anees and adopted brother Sukma Darmawan Sasmita Atmadja who initially pleaded guilty of homosexual acts with him but subsequently recanted their statements, saying they were coerced by the police.
His wife's driver Azizan Abu Bakar was also alleged to have engaged in homosexual acts with Anwar.

Amid doubts over the forensic evidence used to convict him of corruption and sodomy, Anwar was sentenced to six and nine years in prison respectively. The sentences were to run concurrently.
However, in 2004 a panel of three judges in Federal Court overturned his sodomy conviction by 2 to 1, citing contradictions in the prosecution's case.

Different standards

In his speech last night, Anwar also touched on the statutory declaration by blogger Raja Petra Raja Kamaruddin implicating Najib’s wife Rosmah Mansor in the murder of a Mongolian national.
The PKR leader said he was shocked when heard about the statutory declaration but was even more stunned when the allegations were quickly brushed aside.
"When Raja Petra made a statutory declaration, alleging that Najib's wife Rosmah was present during the murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu the attorney-general called it frivolous.
"But when the case is against Anwar Ibrahim, the authorities are moving with lightning speed, moving their forensic teams in and out of the Damansara condominium," he said.

The timing of the allegations, he claimed, was to derail Pakatan's plans for him to re-enter parliament via a by-election and their announcement of the four BN parliamentarians who will be joining them.
"They are getting more and more worried with each passing day as we inch closer to Putrajaya and this is nothing but a cheap attempt to stop us," he said.
Anwar also revealed that he will be going on a nationwide roadshow to explain himself to the people. Before departing, he reminded the crowd of the "One Million" protest at Padang Timur, Petaling Jaya on Sunday.

"On Sunday, DAP's Lim Kit Siang, PAS’ Abdul Hadi Awang and all our PKR leaders will be there to protest this injustice. We hope that you will take this message to your friends and family and ask them to turn out in full force.
"We will send a message to the government this Sunday that such tricks will no longer be tolerated by the people anymore.
"And don't forget to pray to Allah to save our people and country," he said to loud cheers.

Think wisely wheter to join or not , there is no way back ...!
